When
might a Chocolate Fountain be used?
The Fountain can be hired for
- just
about any occasion where you might wish to impress!
[back

What
size is the Naughty… but nice! fountain?
When positioned atop a table, it stands almost seven foot
high - taller than most people. It’s an impressive
sight!

What
kind of chocolate do you use?
Naughty… but nice! use only the very best Belgian
Couverture chocolate.
[back

“Couverture”
chocolate – what’s that?
“Couverture” is French for 'covering'. Couverture
chocolate is used in the finest confectionery – as
a coating for truffles, for example. It uses only real vanilla
extract and contains more cocoa butter than regular chocolate:
anywhere from 32%-39%.

For
how long can the Naughty… but nice! Fountain be run?
In principle, indefinitely - given that the unit will keep
the chocolate at a constantly warm temperature. In practice,
however, we aim to remain in service for about 2 hours.
If you wish, we can run it for longer, by prior arrangement.

How
many people will one fountain serve?
Each Chocolate Fountain can serve up to 300 people. For
events with extensive guest lists, we recommend hiring a
further fountain: the queues can become long and tiresome!
Speed of service is an important consideration.

What
dipping items can be used with the Chocolate Fountain?
Strawberries; marshmallow; profiteroles; pineapple chunks;
orange segments – the list goes on and on! To ensure
the chocolate flows well, we advise against crumbly things,
anything which might slide easily from the skewers - and
anything watery.

Can
the Chocolate Fountain be used outdoors?
The Fountain should only be operated in enclosed areas -
ie a hall or marquee. It’s not advisable to use the
fountains outside:
-
breezes can carry unwanted items into the chocolate.
-
outdoor temperatures can cool the chocolate on its journey
down to the base, causing the flow to falter and become
uneven.
-
gusts and winds could blow chocolate onto guests’
attire.

Why
provide an operator?
At Naughty… but nice! having fun is something we take
seriously. We feel it’s vitally important that the
chocolate runs smoothly, elegantly and is at its best from
beginning to end. To achieve this, every fountain must be
expertly installed and maintained for the duration of its
use by a fully-trained Fountain Operator. That operator
remains responsible for the operation and cleanliness of
the Fountain and its area – as well as ensuring that
stocks of dipping items and chocolate are adequately maintained.
[back

How
does the chocolate get to the top of the Fountain?
A specially-made stainless steel “Archimedean screw”
rotates inside the Fountain’s central shaft. This
carries the chocolate from the base up to the Fountain top,
whereupon it begins its journey back down to the base, cascading
elegantly over each tier.

Will
you have any special power requirements?
Simply a normal 240 volt plug socket.

Would
the fountain be ok for guests with nut allergies?
We can’t guarantee the chocolate – and certain
dipping items - are free from traces of nut. Please advise
any guests with nut allergies of this fact.
[back

Are
there any health and safety issues to be considered?
The fountain is constructed from food-grade stainless steel
and maintained to the highest catering standards. Our operators
are trained and certified in public food hygiene. The highest
standards are maintained throughout preparation and service.

Can
I hire the fountain without an operator?
We really don’t recommend this. The operation of a
Chocolate Fondue Fountain is far from straightforward. It
must be constantly checked to ensure smooth flow of chocolate
and replenished as the level of chocolate depletes. Our
operator will ensure hygiene standards are maintained and
replenish dipping items as required. There are also some
important health & safety and insurance liability factors
to take into consideration: fully laden, the fountain weighs
in at some 110lbs, so you wouldn’t want it falling
on anyone – not to mention that it it’s an expensive
bit of kit to replace or repair too!
